Blur Bar for YouTube - Language Learning Tool
Blur Bar for YouTube is a simple yet powerful tool that adds an adjustable blur bar to cover subtitles embedded into YouTube videos. This extension is particularly useful for language learners who rely on subtitles for translation and comprehension. With the blur bar, users can practice their language skills by covering the subtitles and then revealing them to check their understanding.
To use the extension, simply load up the YouTube video of your choice, and a B button will be added to the YouTube video player controls. Clicking this button reveals the blur bar, which can be dragged and resized as needed. The blur bar features a hover-able square at the top left corner, which, when hovered over, reveals the subtitles. Alternatively, users can press the "S" key to access this feature.
The extension also offers options to customize the user experience. The Pause-on-Hover option allows users to toggle whether the video pauses and rewinds when hovering over the reveal square or pressing "S". The Height limit option allows users to toggle whether they can adjust the height of the blur bar beyond a certain limit.
